Streeterville // Bold Work Style
Happy Wednesday my loves! We'll be drinking mimosas & brunchin' in no time. Today on the blog, I wanted to share how I make fashion statements in my traditional, suits all week type of work culture. First of all, I’ve never been a black pant suit type of girl. I hate dress pants…period. Second of all, I love a good fitting blazer (just got a new navy blue one from Banana Republic and it fits like a glove), but I truly dislike matching blazer and skirt sets! So….you ask…what do I do then?! I go for bold colors, patterns, and/or accessories. Of course, you know your work culture better than anyone else—so if bold colors are a no no, then try to go for patterns or statement jewelry! Read on for more :)!
What I'm wearing on today’s post is a red dress from Ann Taylor (which I wear year-round, they look great with black or grey tights from Hue), a statement necklace from J.Crew, my amazing new pieces of bracelets & rings from Audaviv (details of the jewelry below & also check them out at www.audaviv.com), lace-up black flats from Zara (similar here), and a color block bag from Kate Spade (smaller version here; love this colorblock here). I would normally wear a blazer (black, navy, gray, or white would look great with the red dress) if going to work, but it was 90 degrees the day we took pictures so left the blazer behind. I personally love the color red and am always on the lookout for more red work appropriate dresses. Some of my new favorite pieces that I am eyeing are below (click on the item description to open link to product page):
My gfs always tell me I have a humongous necklace collection—BUT, my bracelets & rings department is seriously lacking and I never have arm candy to wear to work. This is because I have tiny wrists and fingers (size 4.5) and it’s impossible to find cute bracelets/bangles and rings that aren’t falling off. Being a jewelry lover, I could not have been more excited when the opportunity to collaborate with Audaviv came up. Audaviv has fabulous pieces of jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc) from designers around the world and it’s so cool that the bracelets and rings I’m wearing on this post come from Germany, Austria, etc. (check them out at www.audaviv.com and use code GIRLS&THREADS for 15% off, they have FREE international shipping as well!!!).
The first thing I saw on the Audaviv website was the silver hamsa bracelet that I’m wearing on the post, I mean, how CUTE is that? All the pieces that I'm wearing not only fit perfectly but also are versatile for work and play, and are great for stacking! The silver hamsa bracelet is stretchable, the silver bangle is adjustable and made to fit every wrist, and the black beaded bracelet has a string enclosure at the end of it so it's adjustable as well. Below, I’ve picked a few of my favorite pieces of jewelry as well as the ones I’m wearing (click on the item description to open link to product page):
Hope you subscribe and check back soon for another post on what to wear to work! Enjoy the rest of the week sunshines!
